The Australian Armour and Artillery Museum, in the Cairns hinterland, has one of the Southern Hemisphere's largest collections of armoured vehicles and artillery. The displays range from Australian military vehicles to better-known foreign tanks and guns.
It is a specialist museum, but a strong one: allow time if you care about military hardware, engineering, or 20th-century battlefield history.
