Grassy Hill is the quick, rewarding lookout above Cooktown. From the top you can see the Endeavour River, the town grid, the coast, and the low tropical hills beyond. It is especially good late in the day, when the light softens over the river mouth.
The view is often described as close to what Cook's crew would have seen while they were repairing the Endeavour nearby, minus the roads and roofs.
