Auckland Point is the place to get Gladstone's geography in one look. From the lookout you can see the harbour, marina, islands, mountains, power station, and the industrial waterfront that drives the city. It is more interesting than pretty in the postcard sense, but it explains Gladstone better than any street-level wander.
