Tondoon Botanic Gardens are Gladstone's best easy nature stop, laid out around lakes, walking paths, and plantings from the Port Curtis and Capricorn Coast region. The gardens are especially useful in a city better known to many travellers for industry and reef-island access.
It is a relaxed visit rather than a headline Queensland garden. Come for a walk, birdlife, shade, and a clearer sense of the local coastal vegetation before or after heading out to Heron Island or Lady Musgrave Island.
