Karumba Heritage Walk

The Karumba Heritage Walk links Karumba town and Karumba Point on a roughly 4 km path through flat Gulf country. It is not a dramatic walk, but that is the point: the interest is in the wetlands, birdlife, fishing history, wartime traces, and the feeling of moving through a landscape where land and tide blur into each other.

Go early or late. The path is exposed in places, and the wet season can make low sections muddy. In the dry season, it is one of the easiest ways to see the mangrove edge and the birds that feed around the Norman River flats.
