Queens Park is Maryborough at its most graceful: old trees, lawns, river views, band rotunda, and the careful civic landscaping that regional towns once took seriously. It is a calm place, but not a generic one.
The park works well as a pause between the port precinct and the town centre. If the miniature steam railway is running, it adds a nicely old-fashioned layer to the visit.
