Gulflander and Normanton Railway Station

The Gulflander, nicknamed the Tin Hare, is Normanton's classic attraction: a heritage railmotor that runs across the Gulf Savannah toward Croydon on a line built for the goldfields. It is slow, eccentric, and exactly the kind of transport that makes more sense once you see the country it crosses.

Even if you are not taking the full journey, allow time for Normanton Railway Station. The heritage-listed terminus has railway memorabilia, old rolling stock, and enough context to explain why this remote town once mattered to the Gulf's mining and cattle economy.
