Krys the Crocodile

Krys the Crocodile is an 8.3-metre replica of the largest recorded saltwater crocodile, taken on the Norman River in 1957. It is a quick photo stop, but a good one: the model is huge enough to make the Gulf's crocodile warnings feel less abstract.

The statue stands in L.E.W. Henry Park, close to the visitor information centre, so it is easy to fold into a short walk around town.
