Salsa Bar and Grill is one of Port Douglas's most established restaurants, running for years on Wharf Street and reliably delivering the kind of menu that makes sense in a tropical Queensland resort: fresh barramundi, mud crab, prawn dishes, and decent steaks. The cocktail menu is extensive and the atmosphere is casual without being slouchy.
The deck at the back looks out over Dickson Inlet, which is the better place to sit if you can get a table. Bookings are advisable in peak season (July–September) when the town fills up with southern Australians and international visitors avoiding their cold winters.
