Mount Marlay rises just above town and gives a quick, useful view of Stanthorpe's setting: the rooftops, highway, orchards, and low hills of the Granite Belt. You can drive close to the lookout or walk up from town if you want a short leg-stretcher.
It is not a wilderness walk, but it helps orient the area before heading out to the wineries and granite country.
