Agnes Water Beach is the open-ocean half of the 1770 stop. It is commonly described as Queensland's northernmost surf beach, because farther north the Great Barrier Reef starts to calm the swell.
The beach is long, broad, and much more developed than 1770 itself. Come here for swimming, beginner surf lessons, or a walk when the bay at 1770 feels too still.
