Coffin Bay National Park is the main reason to stay longer than lunch. The park protects a long coastal peninsula of dunes, limestone cliffs, sheltered bays, surf beaches, and heathland where emus and kangaroos are common.
The easy southern section can be visited in an ordinary car, but the remote northern beaches need high-clearance 4WD. Even a short visit gives you a sense of the Eyre Peninsula's wilder coast; with more time, the park becomes the trip.
