Shark cage diving is the experience that gives Port Lincoln its international pull. Boats leave the marina for the Neptune Islands, where great white sharks patrol cold, seal-rich water far offshore.
It is a full-day commitment, expensive, weather-dependent, and not for everyone. But if seeing a great white from the water has ever been on your list, Port Lincoln is one of the serious places to do it. Some operators also run sea-lion swims, which are gentler and often more playful.
