Olivewood was developed as the Chaffey family's Renmark residence and now works as the town's best introduction to the first irrigation colony. The house, museum displays, olive grove, and garden make the story feel domestic rather than abstract.
It is a small stop, but a useful one. Renmark's riverfront is pleasant on its own; Olivewood explains why this settlement appeared here and why the surrounding Riverland looks the way it does.
