Woomera Missile Park is the town's unavoidable sight: a public display of rockets, missiles, aircraft, and other test-range hardware standing in the dry centre of the village. It looks almost casual until you remember that much of this machinery was part of Cold War weapons and space testing.
The park is free and quick to see, but it rewards slow reading. Woomera's scale is hard to grasp until you stand among the hardware and then look out toward the empty country around it.
