Lake Bullen Merri is a volcanic crater lake just south of Camperdown. It is large enough to feel like real water rather than a pretty pond, and the boat ramps and fishing spots keep it practical as well as scenic.
The lake is strongest as part of a loop with Mount Leura and the botanic gardens. From above, its volcanic shape is clearer; from the shore, it is a calm place to pause.
