Mount Leura and Mount Sugarloaf are the best introduction to Camperdown's volcanic setting. Mount Leura has road access near the top, while Sugarloaf is the sharper scoria cone that makes the landscape look suddenly geological.
The view is the point: low green country, crater rims, Lake Bullen Merri, Lake Gnotuk, and the town below. It is a short outing, but it gives Camperdown its shape.
