Erskine Falls is the easiest major waterfall detour from Lorne. The upper lookout is quick, while the lower viewpoint gives a better sense of the drop and the damp forest around it.
It is a good choice if you are not driving deep into the Otways but still want rainforest texture. Go early or outside peak summer weekends if you prefer your waterfall without a car-park scrum.
