Erskine Falls is the best easy forest trip from Lorne. The water drops into a steep, damp valley in Great Otway National Park, with viewing platforms reached from the car park by a short walk and a longer set of steps.
It is popular because it deserves to be. Combine it with other nearby waterfall walks if you have time, or use it as a cool half-day escape from the beach.
