Lorne Beach is the town's front room: a long, curving strip of sand close to cafes, lawns, and the main street. It is good for a swim in settled weather, but also for a simple end-to-end walk when you have been sitting in the car too long.
Summer crowds are part of the bargain. Outside peak holiday weeks, the bay feels much more generous.
