Beehive Mine and Chimney is one of the clearest mining remnants around Maldon. The brick chimney rises from the old workings near town, making the gold rush less abstract than a row of preserved shops.
It is a short visit, but a good one. Pair it with the historic streets and Mount Tarrengower so you see Maldon as a mining landscape rather than just a pretty town centre.
