Mount Tarrengower Lookout gives Maldon its wider setting. The tower uses an old mining poppet head, a neat local touch, and the view from the top looks back over the township, dry paddocks, and the low goldfields hills.
Go late in the afternoon if you can. The light is kinder, the country opens up, and the climb makes a clean finish after a day of streets, mines, and railway history.
