Easey's is the burger joint with three decommissioned Melbourne train carriages bolted to the roof of a Collingwood building, seven storeys up. You order downstairs and ride the lift to eat your burger in a graffiti-covered train carriage with a panoramic view back over the rooftops to the city skyline — a gimmick, undeniably, but a very Collingwood one, and the burgers are genuinely good.
The menu is short and unfussy: smashed-patty cheeseburgers, fries, soft serve, the things that go with a view and a beer. It is enormously popular, so expect a wait for a carriage seat at peak times, and book if you can. Go at dusk, when the city lights come on and the gimmick briefly feels like the best idea in Melbourne.
