The Morwell Wetlands Walk is a flat, easy loop trail of around three kilometres that skirts the wetlands and creek corridors at the northern edge of town. The area attracts a good variety of waterbirds — purple swamphens, herons, black swans, and various duck species are regular visitors — making it a pleasant early morning walk with binoculars.
The walk is paved and accessible, connects with the broader Latrobe Valley Rail Trail network, and provides a welcome green corridor through a heavily industrial town. There are interpretive signs along the route explaining the ecology of the wetlands and the native vegetation restoration work that has been underway since the early 2000s.
