Cabbage Tree Palms Walk is a short, easy track through one of Victoria's strangest botanical pockets. The palms are normally associated with warmer, wetter country farther north, so finding them here in East Gippsland gives the walk its small thrill.
The track is only about a kilometre return, but the drive and forest setting make it feel like more than a quick leg-stretch. Take care on unsealed access roads after rain.
