Forest Park is Orbost's most useful first stop: a green riverside reserve with picnic space, a playground, interpretive signs, and the visitor information centre in a relocated 1872 slab hut. It gives you a quick read on the Snowy River setting without leaving town.
It is not grand, but it is pleasant, practical, and close to the Orbost Arts Centre.
