Marapikurrinya Park sits by the harbour at the northern end of Wedge Street. It is the simplest place to understand Port Hedland: bulk carriers, tugs, ore-loading infrastructure, heat haze, and red dust all in one view.
This is not a pretty waterfront in the usual sense, but it is memorable. Go near sunset if the light is good, and check locally for ship movements if you want to see the harbour at its busiest.
