Pelham Reserve rises just above town, with steep woodland slopes and viewpoints over Toodyay and the Avon Valley. It is the easiest way to see the setting: the river corridor, dry hills, and compact townsite all in one glance.
The reserve has picnic facilities near the main lookout and short walking options. In spring, the slopes can be bright with everlastings, which makes the climb much more rewarding.
