Pagat Cave Trail

Jungle hike to a freshwater cave pool and ancient Chamorro coastal site.

The Pagat Cave Trail is one of Guam's classic short hikes, dropping through limestone forest to a freshwater cave pool and the remains of an ancient Chamorro settlement. The route is rough rather than long, with sharp coral rock underfoot and little shade once you reach the coast.

Go with sturdy shoes, water, and a realistic sense of the heat. The cave pool is the reward, but the cultural landscape matters just as much: latte stone sites, old village traces, and sea cliffs that show why this northeastern coast has become a focus for both hikers and heritage advocates.
