By air: Air Calédonie flies from Noumea's domestic airport (Magenta) to Île des Pins in about 40 minutes. Several flights daily. This is the fastest option and reasonably priced.
By ferry: The Betico catamaran runs from Noumea to Kuto Bay around three times a week, taking about 2 hours 30 minutes. Fares run around XPF 8,000–12,000 one-way (USD 70–100). The ferry can carry bicycles free of charge. Check schedules before you go — the Betico sometimes operates seasonally.
There is no public transport on the island. Rental cars and scooters are available near the wharf and airport; bicycles can be hired at Gîte Nataiwatch in Kanumera Bay. The island is small enough to cycle, but the roads are hilly in places.
