The most famous beach on the island and the one most visitors head to first. A long arc of powdery white sand, fringed with coconut palms and the island's signature araucaria pines. The water is calm and clear, protected by the reef. Swimming is easy, snorkelling is good at the far ends of the bay where the reef begins.
The beach sits just minutes from the ferry wharf, which means it can get busy on days the Betico arrives. Come early or in the afternoon when the day-trippers have gone.
