In the south of the island, Luengoni is a wide crescent of fine white sand backed by limestone rocks and vegetation. It's one of the prettiest beaches on Lifou, and the snorkeling off the reef here is good. Green turtles come ashore to nest at certain times of year. The caves behind the beach (see Things to Do) add another reason to make the trip south.
