The beach is the headline. Beyond it, Ouvéa offers a few quietly remarkable sights — the Mouli Bridge over the southern lagoon, the cave at Gossanah where the 1988 hostage crisis ended, and a couple of small Catholic churches built by missionaries in the 19th century. The atoll is small enough to drive end to end in two hours, and most visitors do exactly that as a half-day loop after a morning on the sand.
