Marlborough Museum, at Brayshaw Heritage Park, fills in the local story behind the vines: early settlement, regional farming, wine history, and Beavertown, a recreated slice of old Blenheim. It is modest, but useful if you want the region to be more than cellar doors and sunshine.
Pair it with Omaka if the weather turns, or stop before heading out toward the wineries.
