Coastal reserve and viewing hide for yellow-eyed penguins and wild Oamaru shoreline.

Bushy Beach is the wilder counterpoint to the managed blue penguin colony. A short track leads through coastal vegetation to a viewing hide above the beach, where you may see yellow-eyed penguins and other marine life without getting close to them.

Respect the closures and viewing rules. Hoiho are rare, easily disturbed birds, and the point of coming here is to keep your distance.
