The Glacier Hot Pools sit a couple of minutes' walk from the centre of the village — three outdoor pools at different temperatures, surrounded by rainforest. The water is not naturally thermal; it is heated municipal water. The setting is what makes it: bathing in steam under tree ferns, with the rain (because it rains a lot here) coming down on the canopy.
The pools are open until ten in the evening and are particularly pleasant after a day on or near the glacier. Private pools are available for hire by the half-hour. A cafe and changing rooms are on site.
