Roaring Billy Falls is an easy rainforest walk off the Haast Pass road, ending at a riverbed viewpoint across the Haast River. The falls drop in a broad white fan from the far side of the valley, framed by dense forest and the pale glacial colour of the river.
It is a good West Coast stop because it gives you a lot of scenery for little effort. Wear shoes that can handle wet ground, and do not expect the track or river stones to stay dry for long.
