Taumarumaru Scenic Reserve protects a stretch of coast between Coopers Beach and Cable Bay. Tracks run through the reserve and past the sites of former pa, with access from State Highway 10 or from the sand at the western end of Coopers Beach.
It is not as instantly dramatic as Rangikapiti, but it gives a quieter sense of the coast before houses and roads filled the easy ground around the bay.
