Lake Ngardok

Lake Ngardok is Micronesia's largest freshwater lake, sitting in the rainforest of Melekeok state. The lake and its catchment are a wetland reserve protected under the Ramsar convention, home to saltwater crocodiles, freshwater eels, and a population of endemic birds.

A boardwalk and short forest trail lead from the visitor centre to a small platform looking out across the water. Bring insect repellent — the mosquitoes are determined — and check in at the conservation office in Melekeok for current access.
