Maskelyne Islands

A small archipelago of low coral islands off the southeast tip of Malakula, with several traditional fishing villages and some of the best snorkelling and diving in the country. The reefs around Avock, Awei, and Lutes are easily reached by canoe from the islands and run with healthy coral and large pelagic fish.

A handful of village guesthouses offer simple accommodation; meals are fresh fish, root vegetables, and tropical fruit. Reached from Lamap on the south Malakula coast by short boat.
