Burg Oberkapfenberg is a hilltop castle above Kapfenberg, first built in the 14th century and later reshaped in the Renaissance period. Its position gives broad views over the Mur valley and makes the climb part of the visit.
The castle is a good stop for travellers using Bruck an der Mur as a base and looking for a nearby historic sight beyond the town centre.
