The Bohemian Gate marks the old route out of Freistadt toward Bohemia. Its surviving side walls show how substantial the town's gate system once was, even after later fires changed the upper structure.
It pairs well with the Linzertor: together they explain Freistadt as a compact trading town on a north-south route, not just a pretty square.
