Café Braun is the classic Austrian Kaffeehaus on the Bayrhamerplatz in the old town. Marble tables, dark wood panelling, a glass case of cakes — apple strudel, Esterházy torte, Schwarzwälder Kirsch — and the local newspapers spread out on a rack for anyone to read.
It is the kind of place where you can sit for two hours over a Melange and not be hurried. Open daily; busiest at mid-morning and mid-afternoon.
