Hochpustertal Ski Area (Thurntaler)

The Hochpustertal's ski area rises above Sillian to the Thurntaler ridge at around 2,400 metres. It is small by Tirolean standards — around twenty kilometres of pistes — but the snow stays good thanks to the south-facing exposure and high base. Most runs are wide and intermediate, with a few long descents back to the village.

A cross-border lift pass connects the area with the Italian Drei Zinnen resort on the other side of the mountain. That gives access to runs around Sexten and Innichen and effectively doubles the terrain. The area is also open in summer for hiking and downhill mountain biking.
