Just outside the historic centre, Durbuy's park complex includes a topiary garden with some of the most elaborate shaped-hedge sculptures in Belgium — hundreds of green forms trimmed into animals, geometric shapes, and fantastical figures. It is kitsch in the best possible way and unexpectedly absorbing, particularly for children.
Adjacent to the topiary area is an adventure park with rope courses and climbing structures. The combination makes this part of town a sensible stop if you are travelling with kids who have had enough medieval architecture for one day.
