Geel sits in the middle of the Kempen's exemplary signposted cycling network — the original Flemish fietsknooppunten or numbered-node system that has since been copied across Belgium and the Netherlands. Routes follow flat farm tracks, old canal towpaths, and shaded forest lanes between the small Kempen villages.
The local tourist office in the town hall sells the regional map and rents bikes. Plan loops of 30–50 km to take in nearby Mol (with its lake-set Postel abbey beer), the Bocholt-Herentals canal, and the heaths around Lommel. Best between April and October.
