Sint-Amandskerk

Geel's parish church on the Markt, with a Romanesque crossing tower

The parish church on Geel's main square, less famous than Sint-Dimpna but architecturally as old. The Romanesque sandstone crossing tower is twelfth century, with later Gothic additions on the nave. Inside, a fine seventeenth-century pulpit and a series of carved oak choir stalls reward a look.

Free to enter. Combine with the Markt and a coffee on one of the cafe terraces.
