The landscape around Mol — part of the larger Kempen region — is flat, forested, and cut through with canals and heathland. It is ideal cycling territory, and the area is well served by marked routes that connect the beach lakes, the canal towpaths, and stretches of open heather. You do not need to plan carefully; a bike, a rough direction, and a willingness to follow the numbered junction signs is enough.
Zilvermeer park provides a natural starting point. From the lakeshore you can pick up routes heading east into the wider Kempen landscape or follow the Bocholt-Herentals canal southwest toward the town centre. In late summer the heather blooms purple across the open sections, which is the best time to be out on the paths. Bike hire is available locally.
