Nine kilometres south of town, this cemetery marks the battlefield of the 1916 Battle of Turtucaia. Bulgarian, German, Romanian, and Ottoman dead are buried here, with early memorials, old cannons, a chapel, and a small museum that explains why Bulgarians still call the fighting the Tutrakan Epic.
