Rajska Plaža — Paradise Beach — is the longest sandy beach in Croatia and one of the best on the entire Adriatic. It stretches for nearly two kilometres at the northern tip of the Lopar peninsula, with fine white sand (not the pebbles or rock you find almost everywhere else on the Croatian coast) and shallow, brilliantly clear water that stays warm well into September.
The beach faces west, sheltered from the open sea, and the sea floor shelves very gradually — ideal for children. Facilities are plentiful: sun loungers, beach bars, showers. It is busy in July and August; early mornings and late afternoons are quieter.
The village of Lopar is a short walk away. The Lopar peninsula has around twenty sandy beaches in total, most of them smaller and less crowded than Rajska Plaža. San Marino beach, a short walk north, is clothing-optional.
